Economy and Jobs

We believe that a strong economy for every American begins with a strong middle class.  We will fight back against the propaganda and lies on the far right.  A strong American economy invests in and promotes the middle class.  By rebuilding our nation from within, we can create the human and physical infrastructure that will be the foundation for our future prosperity.

Taxes

The American economy cannot be strengthened by a tax system that favors millionaires and billionaires over working and middle class families. Tax cuts for the middle class will stimulate the economy right away by putting money in the pockets of those who will spend it. The tax system must be reformed to give back to the core of the country— the hardworking American middle class.

Health Care

The Affordable Care Act provides millions of Americans fair access to health, safety and security.  By slowing the skyrocketing costs of health care, we can help middle class families feeling the squeeze.  That’s why we believe in protecting this bill on behalf of the millions of American families who benefit from health care reform, and will support continued strengthening of this bill.

Education

Education is the core of our future. We believe in education reform that encourages innovation, competition and equal opportunities to students and teachers who show excellence. Making college more affordable should be a top priority for our leaders in Washington both to ease the burden on middle class and to ensure American competitiveness in the 21st Century.

Energy and Environment

We stand at a tipping point.  We can either lead the global revolution in clean energy, or we can cede the clean industry and clean energy jobs to China. . We must tap our innovative potential to create American jobs, reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and improve our national security.  A healthy world and a healthy economy run hand in hand.

National Security

We promote national security policies that protect our nation, defend our interests and enhance America's position as a respected world leader.

America is a nation of immigrants.  Our dynamism depends on a sensible immigration policy.
